Cantata by Michael Webster with Diane Ward. Premiered as a live performance at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles, 2005.
“Fade on Family” is a music drama without singing. Words from Diane Ward’s poem are triggered by notes on a piano keyboard, the notes and words being heard together only in the viewer’s head. The Mother’s words are above, the Father’s below and the Child in the center.
